Frame 16

Were these two former partners in life as well?

A courteous kiss of a hand to welcome the other back to the celebration they've shared before or are finding each other for the first time after their lives prior, or indeed taking advantage of what was forbidden before then ...

... and a first suggestion by Hoopes of reliving past emotions beyond just a Dionysian celebration by the spirits.  In this retouch a brighter cascade of color spills from the bowing form which serves as an flirtatious aura of intent.

Further example of Hoopes' knowledge of form and anatomy in the proportions and representations of the hipbones and legs of these two.

The watercolor mist still so effective in connecting and obscuring that which goes on in the foreground with that in the back in the distance it so subtly implies.
